Biltmore Ear Nose Throat PC is Hiring an Audiologist Near Goodyear, AZ

Description

Under the general supervision of the Director of Operations, the Audiologist is responsible for overseeing patient care during appointments in the medical practice. The Audiologist is responsible to patients by providing information, services, and assistance. Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services by assessing and treating neonate, infant, children, adolescent, adult, and geriatric hearing, balance, and communication disorders. Other duties include securing medical records; maintaining medical supplies inventory; performing hearing tests.

  • Defines patient hearing impairment and balance disorder by conferring with referring physician; selecting and administering electrophysiological and other relevant tests; operating diagnostic equipment; determining type and degree of hearing impairment and effects on comprehension and speech; interpreting audiometric diagnostic data; preparing written diagnostic reports.
  • Provides treatments by cleaning ear canal; fitting hearing aides and other assistive devices; conducting auditory training and instruction in speech and lip reading; fitting and tuning cochlear plants; counseling patients and families; conducting programs in aural rehabilitation; guiding technical staff.
  • Maintains patient records by recording and updating evaluations, changes, progress, and treatments.
  • Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; participating in research programs; evaluating new equipment, devices, and techniques.
  • Provides auditory evaluations and education by measuring and studying noise conditions; conducting hearing protection and hearing loss screening programs.
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
  • Maintains legal and accreditation compliance by adhering to federal, state, and local regulations, and professional standards.
  • Updates job knowledge by tracking trends in new techniques and approaches; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

The primary work location is in a general office environment, with a noise level of office conditions. 

Requirements

  • Education: Doctorate of Audiology, Current license with the State of Arizona
  • Educated on and compliant with HIPAA regulations; maintains strict confidentiality of patient and client information.
  • Training and experience: Two years of medical clinic audiology experience preferred. Internet, email, MS Office and data entry skills required. Unless otherwise indicated, two years of current experience within the last year in a comparable job classification required.
  • Ability to pass state/federal background security check and work in state/federal correctional institution.
  • Ability to work effectively within role independently and with other team members.
  • Ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner.
  • Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English.
  • Ability to understand medical/surgical terminology.

Physical Demands-Stooping, turning, bending, squatting, kneeling and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; constant/repetitive standing; requires normal, correctable vision and hearing, and the ability to accurately discern duties as necessary to perform job functions.
